Jamie W. Steele - Executive Director
Jamie was appointed to the Executive Director position in 1992, becoming Halom House,
Inc.'s third Executive Director since first opening its doors in 1985. Jamie came to Halom
House, Inc. with an abundance of experience in the mental retardation and developmental
disability field having positions with the Drake Center, Inc., BAWAC, Inc., RHMR, Fairfield
Center and Stepping Stones Center. He has over twenty years of experience working specifically
with people with developmental disabilities.
Jamie received his Bachelor of Arts degree from The College of Mount Saint Joseph in
Cincinnati, Ohio in 1987, with a major in Social Work. In 1993, Jamie received his Masters
in Social Work through the University of Cincinnati. He has also completed an intensive
two-year post-graduate program in Family Therapy, through the Family Therapy Institute of
Cincinnati.
Jamie is married to attorney Christine C. Steele and together they have four children. He
enjoys singing and acting and is an active member of the Nativity Catholic Church located
in Pleasant Ridge, Ohio.
Pam Ballinger - Program Coordinator
Pam started working with Halom House, Inc. in 2004 and brings with her an abundance of
experience working with people with mental retardation and developmental disabilities. As
Program Coordinator, Pam is responsible for the overall day to day operation of all
residential programs. She is the direct supervisor of all residential management staff and
